There are many type of dry cooling system. They all have their specificity, shape and fin tube technologies. Our fin tube cleaning system AX Cleaner® fits with anyone of them. Here are some examples:

A frame tube cleaningThis is the most common type of ACC. The dry cooling system has a roof shape, and the fan is installed behind the bundle, pushing the cold air in forced draft.

With this ACC, a ladder is guiding the cleaning head along the fin tube, and the pusher is rolling in the aisle.

The cleaning head is spraying high pressure water from the outside to the inside, to move the fouling back to where it comes from. Most fouling is on the inside bundle surface. By cleaning from the outside the fouling is directly washed away in the direction it came from.

If the fin tubes are single-raw type, the ladders are very light and roll directly on the ACC thanks to rubber wheel.

If the fin tubes are multi-row type,  the ladders are heavier and rolling on two horizontal rails: one at the top and one at the bottom of the ACC.

The exchanger looks like a A-Frame, but upside down. The fan is installed on the top of the bundle, sucking up the hot air. The natural convection is helped by an induced draft.

This type of exchanger often leaves less space to insert a cleaning system, which is why it is important to use a particularly compact cleaning system like the AX Cleaner®.

If the fin tubes are single-raw type, the ladders are very light and roll directly on the ACC thanks to rubber wheel.

If the fin tubes are multi-row type,  the ladders are heavier and rolling on two horizontal rails: one at the top and one at the bottom of the ACC.

 

Vertical condenser (Hexacool®)

Multiple face condenser installed vertically, they are often used when space on the ground is limited. Their high height ensures a natural draft already effective, aided by fans in the upper part operating in induced draft.

The fin tube cleaning solution AX Cleaner® is mostly installed outside of the hexacool, and the pusher is positioned on the roof. In this configuration, it is cleaned in the direction of the air flow instead of at counterflow. The shape of the fins being straight, the cleaning is nevertheless very effective.

 

Horizontal flat exchanger

The liquid to be cooled is not steam and there is no change of state.

In this configuration, the fin tube cleaning system AX Cleaner® is simply placed over the fin tubes, spraying the high pressure water downwards. Cleaning is done at counter flow.

Modular dry cooling system

More and more manufacturers of air exchangers offer modular systems of small dimensions. Easier to transport, they reduce the length of plant’s construction.

The fin tube cleaning solution AX Cleaner® also fits with these technologies. The cleaning head moves only in one horizontal axis. It makes the whole height of the exchanger, and the pusher ensures the displacement.
